Amsterdam is located in the north of the Netherlands. Amsterdam is the largest city with a population of around 750,000 but with visitors numbering over 3 million a year.

The main tourist area is the city centre around Central Station. Damrak is the wide avenue that runs from Centraal Station to Dam square that gave Amsterdam it's name. Names due to the River Amstel being dammed at Dam Square. Now an open square with a war memorial at the centre.

Amsterdam is a cool city with plenty to do, many attractions, and a thriving entertainment scene.

The neighborhoods and villages surrounding Amsterdam are also steeped in history and offer wonderful landscapes and variety to the city itself.
